BHRC (Business and Human Rights Conform) is a student-run NGO that was founded at University of Zurich with the mission to take a stand for a socially and economically sustainable economy in Switzerland and consciously pursues an academic and impartial approach.
While BHRC is active on different thematic fields, it currently focuses on divestment. The NGO’s engagement is centered on the prohibition of investment in nukes by Swiss financial institutions and enterprises. In the course of the activities carried out in the pursuit of achieving an effective prohibition of nuclear investment, BHRC is in contact with parliamentarians, the Swiss administration, national and international civil society organizations as well as financial institutions, evaluates bases of negotiation and organizes networking opportunities for the important stakeholders.
